A D Calvert are delighted to have been approached to undertake these magnificent memorial stones and train.
The project involved working in partnership with the Commander of the Garrison Lieutenant Colonel Joe Jordan and the Catterick Garrisons historians, to undertake a large project to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice. Remembering the bravery of those who fought, lived and died in the First World War.
Project planning commenced January 2018 with discussions involving the scale, location, materials logistics and design to determine the needs and scope the project. The Garrison historians have been a valuable source to the project team.
The proposal was to re make the train within the Garrison on the ‘Camp Central’ roundabout as it was 100yrs ago alongside two service men from WW1 to include a Royal Flying Corps Airman and Tommy Soldier and to pay tribute to the founder of the Garrison Baden Powell.
The unveiling and blessing of the Garrison Memorial will be on the 11th December 2018
